Dominant shape

The Italian company Tubes Radiatori is known for the development of radiators that are characterised by a fascinating language of form that opens up new possibilities in interior design for the user. The aim of the two designers Antonia Astori and Nicola De Ponti is to conceive objects that combine the functionality of radiators with an unusual sculptural quality. Reminiscent of the porcelain insulators of transformer stations, the dominant shape of MILANO/horizontal interacts with the architecture in form and function. In this way, MILANO/horizontal succeeds in creating a space-connoting effect. Available in lengths of 175 and 202 cm, this radiator adds an individual touch to the ambience of the interior – even in areas that are normally neglected, such as under a window. This is mainly due to the shiny and sculptural structure of the body, which is complemented by a high-quality built-in pre-fitting.

Statement by the Jury

MILANO/horizontal is a cleverly designed product that restructures a given space with its dominant form. The innovative horizontal orientation allows for versatile use in a given space, where this radiator can unfold its sculptural appearance.
