Sun Patio-light up shadow
Sun Patio is a solution to small living spaces in Hong Kong. It breaks the architectural grid and uses illuminators, reflectors and green planning to create a shared public platform that increases and improves public spaces between apartments.
To augment Hong Kong’s high-density concrete buildings, Sun Patio uses fibre optic illuminators to reflect and diffuse sunlight from the roof, allowing residents to enjoy natural light even in the atrium. These same illuminators also act as solar panels, helping residents increase their use of solar energy. Every part of the plan aims to improve residents’ lives, bringing a visual sense of rhythm to apartment blocks and creating a more comfortable place to dwell.
