Red Dot: Brand of the Year 2012

In 2012, German car maker Mercedes-Benz won the title of honour “Red Dot: Client of the Year”. The Red Dot Award: Communication Design thus recognised the particularly innovative and ground-breaking marketing and communication work of the brand with the star. The award-winning campaigns included the advertising for the Night View Assist. The campaign, which won the Grand Prix, shows the safety of the Night View Assist from the perspective of the driver, and uses blurry images to convey the dangers that may be lurking up ahead.

“In terms of its communications, too, Mercedes-Benz has remained true to its motto of ‘The best or nothing’, and is therefore a very deserving recipient of the title “Red Dot: Client of the Year 2012””, said Professor Dr. Peter Zec, Founder and CEO of Red Dot, when handing over the award.

“We have a distinct history, as a brand, that sets us apart from the competition. At the same time, we take care to continue developing the brand on an ongoing basis.”
