This exhibition poster series is about four emotions that humans feel: joy, anger, sorrow and pleasure. Its concept “Eyes are the universe” is expressed by the “waves of the universe” and aims to narrate that feelings are “delicate beings” and that humans are just small inside of them. In order to expand these feelings and underline their overwhelming potential, phosphorescent pigments were used in the poster background, which emit a soft afterglow in a dark environment. Aiming to express these feelings visually, an array of fine line and square patterns are distorted from various angles and deformed into different directions to form multifaceted amorphous shapes. Each motif hides the silhouette of a human being who seems to cause these waves and whose size, in relation to the poster, vibrantly illustrates the effect that the thus portrayed feelings have. This vibrancy becomes even more palpable in the dark when the poster, thanks to the special coating, starts to glow.
Statement by the jury
»The design of this poster series relies exclusively on lines that get thinner or thicker as a visual means to express emotions. The realisation itself is highly fascinating and positively captures the attention of beholders. That the posters start to glow as soon as it gets dark further enhances their mesmerising effect, turning these highly expressive motifs into interesting eye-catchers.«
