The Aesop Hannam retail store seeks to create a bold yet understated presence in one of Seoul’s most trend-driven neighbourhoods. As a store-within-a-store, the monochromatic metallic interior reinforces the skincare company’s signature palette of materials with the architectural restraint characteristic of the brand. Two large, twin steel vessels house Aesop’s signature skincare bottles, bearing both the weight of the main counter and the store’s very identity. Carefully calibrated curves thus define the store’s interior in unexpected ways at several scales – massive yet light, an oasis is born.
