AIRAid

Due to a severe shortage of medical resources, thousands of COVID-19 patients and healthcare workers are isolating themselves at home or staying in unsafe facilities in many cities. The goal of this new design is to create a model example of an emergency facility that is mobile, modular, multi- functional and aesthetically pleasing. AIRAid offers a variety of shelter-based needs, such as wards, ICU and medical offices, all of which are ready to install and operate in minutes. The design also aims to meet the emotional needs of patients and healthcare workers. AIRAid can be quickly transported and assembled by hand in 30 minutes using both prefabricated and flat- packed systems. The lightweight structures and enclosures feature an aluminium box-section frame and an inflated PVC membrane. The AIRAid Rail and double-layered casing pipe eliminate the need for nuts and bolts, allowing for faster assembly. AIRAid also integrates technologies such as two-way passages with UV sterilisation and communication functions, as well as non-touch automatic door handles, to prevent cross-contamination. These self-contained units, which are spread across the site, require only electricity and water connections to become operational.
