The packaging design for this Chinese spirit was inspired by the dichotomy of the devil and the angel. These two provocative figures were illustrated using black and white respectively in order to further emphasise their contrasting natures. In addition, matching pairs of symbols, such as devil horns and angel wings, were used decoratively. The embellished cardboard box and the printing on the bottle are effectively complemented by an additional hue of red against a black background or gold against a white background. Both the lettering and the motif prints have been embossed so that they stand out against the smooth surface.
