Avira Health Breastfeeding Device

Zurück Download

92% of mothers experience difficulty breastfeeding in the first week postpartum, often resulting in discomfort that can lead to insufficient milk intake for their child. Avira's breastfeeding device addresses both the practical and emotional challenges of breastfeeding. Designed to closely imitate natural feeding, it fosters a stronger emotional bond while relieving pain and discomfort. The device also provides real-time tracking of feeding patterns, giving mothers valuable insights. The resulting design takes a soft, human-centred approach to avoid the overly clinical feel of traditional medical devices. Unlike conventional pumps, which often feature awkward, add-on components, this design focuses on seamlessly integrating all necessary parts without compromising aesthetics or comfort. The interface is intentionally minimal, featuring three buttons housed within a pill-shaped island for intuitive usability. A key feature is the interchangeable nipple and cap, allowing mothers to switch between simultaneous feeding and pumping, or pumping alone, depending on their needs. The transparent tank is clearly visible from the user's perspective, offering reassurance by showing the milk as it collects, and can be easily removed for storage to support future feeding sessions. Together, these design decisions address not only functional needs but also the emotional and psychological well-being of new mothers and their children.
