BLEND
Chinese characters, used in both China and Taiwan, are transliterated into the Roman alphabet and Mandarin phonetic symbols respectively. BLEND takes the traditional Chinese zodiac signs, which are common to both cultures, as a framework. Each sign of the zodiac is characterised by a combination of the corresponding alphabetical and phonetic symbols. These 12 ideograms form the core of an educational tool which seeks to promote mutual understanding across the Taiwan Strait. With harmonious lines, the design conclusively embodies the overriding idea of being connected.
