By Nuclear Energy

This ambitious artistic project was triggered by the large earthquake in Japan in 2011, which caused a series of catastrophic accidents and explosions in the Fukushima nuclear power plant. As a result, large amounts of radioactive waste with perilous long-term effects are circulating in the global eco-system. This poster draws attention to the dangers of nuclear energy by portraying people who have died of radiation exposure as blurred ghosts with halos in the shape of the sign for radioactivity. Thus the poster also sarcastically expresses its “appreciation” for those contemporaries who have promoted nuclear energy like a doctrine of salvation without paying any attention to its risks.
