Prior to the FIFA World Cup 2014, official sponsor Continental launched its digital football game ContiRioKick. The goal of this massive multiplayer online app was to start the longest possible sequences of virtual passes between users, thereby qualifying for a chance to win a trip to the World Cup in Brazil. In the game, users pass the ball to friends as well as other players they do not know, who can be located using the radar mode. Those who pass the ball across borders or over particularly long distances receive additional points.
