The original ship-protecting function of lighthouses has been gradually replaced by modern technology. The publication Cultural Spotlights aims at transforming lighthouses into new landmarks of local culture. The work focuses on various Taiwanese lighthouses, which can be rebuilt as paper models. Furthermore, Cultural Spotlights comprises a projection device, richly illustrated assembly instructions, introduction cards to the individual lighthouses, postcards with black-and-white landscape illustrations, as well as a scenery guidebook.
