Danish Design Award: Celebrating Design

Back Download

The visual identity for Danish Design Award captures both tradition and innovation in a recognisable font. This unique typography is based on the functionalistic aesthetics of Danish design pioneer Knud V. Engelhardt. It consists of uppercase letters which have been designed in three weights to highlight the solemn award ceremony. Together with the simple black and white graphic style, the typeface gives this award a strong voice to promote the power of design. It has been applied to everything from website to posters and promotion-al materials as well as the trophy itself, which is made of ash wood with its surface covered with gold leaf.
