Dauerhaft deconstructs authoritarianism, emphasising alternative self-expression by referencing queer experiences in East Germany during the 70s and 80s, when self-expression was powerful resistance against oppressive regimes. Dauerhaft recreates traditional Stasi uniform collars, then displaces them: relocating the collar across the back of a jacket or draped around the hips. This reimagining shifts the uniform's symbolism, inverting the power dynamics.
