Dong Ba
The Dong Ba symbols are a system of ancient pictographic glyphs. Still used by the Naxi people in southern China today, the script traces back to times before the Oracle bone script. This publication introduces stickers for chat software inspired by Dongba symbols. Like emojis, the simplified characters denote particular emotions or ideas in a concise manner. They are interpreted in a modern way in order to revive the traditional script. The handbook presents the whole sticker series and explains the background of the project in detail.
