Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea

The Taiwanese legend of the Eight Immortals can be acted out with the colourful paper figures presented on this cut-out sheet. The intricately and accurately produced illustrations are defined by lovingly rendered details and clearly drawn facial features, visually depicting the abilities of the respective saints while also making it easy to distinguish between the different characters. The choice of material and the ease with which the puppets can be assembled brings Taiwanese puppetry to the mainstream and keeps this tradition alive.
