This exhibition catalogue is dedicated to Emeka Ogboh, born in 1977 and regarded as a pioneer sound artist from Africa. The book is a compendium of his work entitled “Lagos Soundscapes”, which focuses on Lagos, Nigeria’s economic and cultural capital. The design of the catalogue offers an interaction, both sensual and acoustic. Accordingly, it is coated with a rough but transparent linen fabric. When readers slide over it with their fingertips, the noise resembles a softly roaring loudspeaker. As an iconic image of Emeka’s work, the loudspeaker on the cover references the soundscapes of the artist.
