Fire Extinguisher 'HERE'

Standard fire extinguishers may be ineffective against certain fires, such as kitchen fires caused by overheated cooking oil. However, maintaining multiple extinguishers is impractical. To address this, an innovative extinguisher has been developed with two containers for different agents in a single unit. It combines ABC powder for general fires and a liquid agent for kitchen fires, enabling faster and more efficient suppression via a single lever. For enhanced fire safety, users can select the appropriate agent or discharge both simultaneously. Effective fire suppression requires at least 2 kilograms of extinguishing agent, which often results in bulky and heavy extinguisher units. As a solution, we prioritised user comfort, designing a grip suitable for all users. Extensive usability testing with 30 participants validated the design, confirming reduced strain on both wrist and back.
