The image film of the company Followfish is about tuna. Tuna is highly overfished and industrial tuna fishing leads to 100,000 tons of marine species wasted as unused by-catch every year. In a highly engaging and attention-grabbing approach, the animation film aims to show that it does not have to be this way and that there is a sustainable alternative to industrial tuna fishing: the Followfish tuna is caught by hand with a fishing rod and processed and canned directly on site. The film animation is based on simple illustrations that look like paper cutouts made from packing paper. They feature a reduced colour scheme that consistently reflects the subdued colours of the brand’s visual identity. The message that tuna is particularly delicious when caught in a sustainable way, and that it contributes to the protection of both its stocks and the local economy, as for example on the Maldive Islands, is conveyed by “Good Catch” in a fresh and convincing approach that visualises the philosophy of the company. Statement by the jury »The image film “Good Catch” succeeds in two ways: on the one hand, it conveys its message to the consumer in a highly positive and concise manner; on the other hand, it communicates the philosophy of the company, which is active in the fight against the overfishing of the oceans. Moreover, the film is technically well made and impresses with a consistent narration.«
