Using emotionalising imagery, this corporate movie conveys the message that our oceans are already overfished to their limits. With seemingly naive sequences but without attaching blame, the film communicates that the awarded brand followfish consequently engages in sustainable fishery and for that purpose raises awareness by providing extensive information. Thus, “Gegen den Strom” (Against the tide) does not only intend to reveal the alarming scale of overfishing, but also wants to convince the audience that it is not too late for a change of course yet.
