The Grafische Filmtranskription (graphical transcription of film), executed in a poster and book format, is a system for the visual representation of a film’s structure. The film is deconstructed into its component parts and then put together again into a kind of infographics. Film minutes thus become centimetres. Individual, coloured surfaces, symbols and writing together form an abstract representation of the film, which makes the structure of the content as well as the technical construction visible. Thus, elements come to the fore that are mostly perceived unconsciously during a single viewing.
