A strong visual identity was created to attract a younger audience to the avant-garde shows on the alternative stage of the Greek National Opera. The new design uses mainly thick black strokes on a white background, accompanied by a single colour for each show, with the artwork consisting of surreal symbols more intense than those for the main stage. The catalogues for the individual shows all use playful elements in the layout. The covers unfold to reveal the poster of the respective show and the pages in the middle use a trifold to enhance the content. The layout in general keeps a contemporary yet serious character. Each catalogue design is attention grabbing and encourages people to consider them collector’s items.
