Instead of packaging cheese in a conventional box, this handmade cheese by the organic cheese dairy Gut Kerschlach is placed between two round, cardboard beer coasters which are tied together. The blue-and-white string symbolises its region of origin, Bavaria, while the Manila fastening lends the packaging stability. The message that this is a handmade product is further underlined by the material employed, its form and the way the cheese package is tied. This unconventional idea relies on the design’s strong visual effect in the refrigeration section.
