The cover design of these multi-functional publications was inspired by traditional Chinese design techniques such as paper cutting and expressive calligraphy. The hand-drawn key visual is a collage comprising a total of 34 small-format illustrations. With great attention to detail, the motifs show the sights of the City of Wuhan, such as the Yellow Crane Tower as the symbol of Wuhan, and the Yangtze River. The individual drawings are supposed to recall the city’s history and inspire the reader to reflect on urban culture and the experience of aesthetic education.
