Hanzi’s Secret

Chinese is a highly complex language and one of the world’s oldest. There are many regional variants, but they are all linked as they share the same logograms or characters, with one character basically standing for one word. As it can be hard for children to easily understand hundreds of different characters, the Hanzi’s Secret project was launched to convey the beautiful characters, their shapes and the stories behind them. The iPad app was designed to help children learn Chinese in a new and entertaining manner. Keeping the basic structure of the Chinese characters, each of the characters is introduced by appearing as a cute cartoon image with a story. After getting to know the building blocks that the characters consist of, children can remember them easily and apply the method of word formation quickly to create more characters independently. The imaginatively designed app contains over 40 animations that have been drawn to excite children and encourage them to spend time learning Chinese characters by making it pleasure and fun.
