The challenge was to develop an unmistakeable visual identity for a new Moscow-based architects’ office which focuses on architecture in the information age. The name KOMETA (Comet in Russian) is a metaphor for the inspiration of an idea in the midst of data or information. For the corporate design, the most basic console interface was chosen, which is embedded in every BIOS and instantly available, even before any graphic interface is installed. The result is a text-only identity limited to characters used for code pages. The logo also just consists of a string of characters.
