Lusso

The large office building landscape of Seoul is dominated by grey buildings and concrete roads. Lusso set out to create a sanctuary — a space offering relief from this barren and colourless environment devoid of nature. At the heart of Cafe Lusso's design is a little garden nestled within the urban jungle, a gift of a space that provides a private, mentally restorative environment and eases the fatigue of office workers. High ceilings, natural wood and stone finishes, and the interplay of warm light and shadow offer a calm counterpoint to the city's fast pace. This space gently reminds visitors to 'slow down'. The spatial flow from entrance to bar table as well as the table arrangement are designed to gradually distance users from the cold concrete jungle that is outside, creating distinct experiences in each area. The natural materials in this space will develop unique hues over time, while the human touch will further mark the passage of time, adding richness and character to the space.
