The programme booklets of the National Theatre of Greece feature an asym-metrical binding which leaves parts of the booklet body exposed. The brochure design follows the concept of seasonal differentiation. For the main season, the illustrations are hand drawn com-bining a simple symbol with a contrasting detail. For the summer season, geometrical shapes and photography were used to create the initial letter for each play’s protagonist. All covers are printed on special paper, unique to each edition. Inside, each booklet has its own layout concept which combines typography, monochrome printing and photography in experimental ways. The visual elements develop as a semiotic meta-narrative inspired by the content of each play.
