Ocean Plastics Lab

The International travelling exhibition Ocean Plastics Lab (OPL) documents the global flow of plastics and the pollution it causes. The aim of the exhibition is to visualise the issue, in particular since only little is known about the routes and impact of the waste. Therefore, five shipping containers show how science and research seek to understand and tackle the problem of plastics in the oceans. Interactive elements are also part of the didactic concept in order to convey emotions and get visitors involved. To achieve this, different perspectives are considered: those of children and teenagers, as well as those of decision-makers and experts. Each container focuses on a different topic to share scientific insights and information with people.
