Old Oil Mill

This box for sesame seed oil stands out at the point of sale mostly due to a fold-out in the shape of a black sesame seed, which has been magnified 200-fold. It can be rotated upward by 180 degrees, which brings into view a die-cut shape contoured as the Chinese character for oil. Furthermore, the outer packaging features a drawing that illustrates the traditional process of sesame seed oil production. Both the drawing and the sesame seed stand out from the light-brown box due to the strong colour contrasting. Moreover, the bottle with its paper and cord bottle cap conveys an artisanal character.
