The user interface for the sciencefiction, action-adventure video game Quantum Break, designed for controller, mouse and keypad, aims for modernism. It was developed to reflect the belief that most functional interfaces will continue to become more minimalistic in the next ten years, while still including a certain level of realism. Based on this concept, its style emphasises simplicity. It is divided into two parts: the menu system and the head-up display (HUD). The design of both is uniform, with only changes in the colour palette to indicate whether the user is within the game or not.
