Elegant simplicity, a visually reductive approach and pioneering technology are the hallmarks of the new Range Rover Velar, the fourth member of the Range Rover family. The luxury SUV was created in 1970 when Land Rover launched the original Range Rover. Almost half a century later, that spirit of innovation continues. Velar’s details are all born from a deep-seated belief in understatement – delicate and beautifully slim illumination and features, inside and out, are all rendered invisible until required.
Velar’s aluminium intensive body shell ensures exceptional performance, agility and efficiency while its air suspension, permanent all-wheel drive and abundance of innovative technologies all contribute to making this vehicle a joy to drive. As with all other Land Rover models, Velar’s all-terrain capability is unrivalled. Integrating the Terrain Response and Terrain Response 2 controls into Touch Pro Duo eliminates the traditional dial and hard buttons, further emphasising the visually-reductive approach that drives every aspect of the Velar’s design.
Mirroring the taut, uncluttered, and perfectly-executed exterior design, the thin capacitive polycarbonate of Velar’s precision-crafted interior follows the subtle curvature of the instrument panel for seamless surface integration. Tailored innovation incorporates two high-definition 10-inch touch screens which are hidden until they are needed. The infotainment system features two multi-function rotary controllers which are distinguished by their tactile, rubberised outer surface, Satin Chrome bezels and seamlessly-integrated digital display screens. The rotary transmission controller rises silently from the centre console on start-up. Velar belongs in the precision-led design world of 21st-century technology.
