Marooned by time, Hunting Island evokes seclusion and human scale. The site breathes with the tides, fostering habitats for vegetation and wildlife. Tidal creeks and mudflats host diverse interactions; the meeting of salt and fresh water forms dendritic patterns that balance spartina grass and animal life cycles. The project’s sustainability strategies evolved from a deep understanding of the marsh landscape dynamics.
