Seedly is a wearable necklace for children which helps educate them on how to grow produce for themselves. With built-in sensors, including a photo-cell, hydration sensor, bluetooth low energy module and temperature sensor, the device can communicate to the child what it needs through a mobile application. When the seeds, which are in the container attached to the necklace, need sunlight or water to grow into a plant, the children are informed of this via smartphone. Once the seed is fully grown, children can plant it, and mark the place where it was planted on the map within the app.
