Spireworks is a building-scale interactive lighting installation with a corresponding app that allows users to control architectural lights in buildings in real time, using a range of different colours and animated graphics raising awareness for non-profit causes worldwide. The interface design and innovative interactions allow users to choose between iconic buildings in New York City. Visible from nearly 30 miles away, with the tap of a button, the public can see the building’s colour change. Spireworks currently has access to the spire and podium of One World Trade Center, the spires of One Bryant Park and One Five One 42nd Street. More buildings are being added and the platform is beginning to expand its offerings.
