Reading texts aloud has proven to be very important for the development of a child’s literacy. This is why the Schweizerisches Institut für Kinder- und Jugendmedien (Swiss Institute for Children and Youth Media) has launched the Swiss Day of Reading Aloud. A brand design which is attractive to adults as well as children was developed for the occasion. The design focuses on emotionally appealing key visuals: a dog, a rabbit, a mouse and a giraffe, all of which are reading out loud. In combination with four recurring colours and typographical elements, the brand animals contribute to a distinctive visual identity.
