Today, many Taiwanese consider Taiwanese Hokkien as the language of the older generation, while Mandarin Chinese is commonly used. These illustrations have been created within the framework of an initiative to revive the Taiwanese language tradition. The colourful imagery is based on the idea of a medical report, bringing assistance to people figuratively suffering from loss of the Taiwanese dialect. Applied to various media, the illustrations entice the viewers to engage with the content through distinctive, boldly brushed motifs.
