The poster series was designed to promote awareness and understanding of the physical burden of the elderly. According to the principle “a part for the whole”, simple, memorable pictures draw attention to a complex issue. The key visual of chains symbolises the fact that important physical abilities such as chewing and swallowing or moving around can be lost in later life. An expressive drawing style, inspired by print graphics, and striking contrasts highlight the message of the posters.
