The Cover Story

This project aims to promote and connect the island of Taiwan’s many cities by decorating manhole covers with images of iconic sights. Turning them into a medium, the idea was also to change the image of manholes. The designs are subdivided into the four categories of architecture, old streets, landscapes and festivals. Each category is given a fitting colour palette and text, making it easy for viewers to learn about the place or event depicted while appreciating the design. To introduce the manhole covers, the brochure’s content pages offer brief introductions and descriptions of individual manhole covers and show the colour palette used.
