Deutsche Bahn created the HerthaHelden (HerthaHeroes) app to provide information about its sponsoring of the Bundesliga football club Hertha BSC. Football fans are invited to be part of the game by voting for their “hero of the day” live at the stadium. To this end, the app presents the line-ups, live statistics and background information. In addition, it also allows users to select their “dream team”, to share and com-pare it with others. The design challenge of making the corporate identity of Deutsche Bahn and the colours of Hertha come together is solved by creating a new look that is based on the almost mystical atmosphere of a floodlit match in the rain.
