Digital surfacing techniques, which enable many new material effects, are making their way into all material systems. The “International Surface Yearbook” has been created for designers with the objective of furthering the trend towards surface design. To this end, different material effects are introduced in a highly aesthetic and three-dimensional manner using double-page-spread colour illustrations. What is more, sophisticated reproduction and print technology enables a presentation that provides three-dimensional effects with haptic quality.
