TreeSoil is a 3D-printed earthen structure designed to protect young trees by creating microclimates conducive to early growth. Drawing on ancient agricultural methods that build soil and stone structures, TreeSoil combines computational design and robotic fabrication to create high-performance, biodegradable, site-specific envelopes. To enhance sapling survival rates, local climatic data is used to optimise airflow, solar radiation, and moisture levels.
