The “Trenntstadt Berlin” initiative, launched by Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) is aiming to raise public awareness in Berlin that glass can be recycled most effectively if it is sorted according to colour. Several public activities were organised as part of this campaign to attract people’s attention. The labels of commercially available types of glass packaging were altered to show information on waste separation and glass recycling. The four motifs created were then used as ads and in a large-scale poster campaign at many Berlin railway stations. It was also presented outside on digital poster panels and large hoardings, as well as in the “Berliner Fenster” information reels shown in the underground trains.
