UNIVERSE BY JRILLA is a bakery that positions itself as new and experimental by using a futuristic visual identity. The character-based marketing strategy centres around the little mascot JRILLA, a gorilla figure from Mars. The entire brand design is defined by symbols, colours and shapes, including hexagonal forms and diffraction foil, which are intended to evoke associations of outer space. While the
brand’s advertisements, commercials and packaging do almost without any product
images, its posters and PoS displays also feature the actual bakery products.
