VITA

VITA is an autonomous first-responder drone designed to support Emergency Medical Services (EMS) at scenes of motor vehicle accidents. It fills the critical time gap between an accident and EMS arrival by providing immediate on-site support, improving early intervention and increasing the chances of better patient outcomes. The drone carries a compact emergency kit with an AED and trauma supplies. A dual-camera system provides live footage to EMS dispatchers, enabling remote assessment and faster decision-making. Onboard AI evaluates the scene, prioritises actions, and supports EMTs in transit, helping the dispatcher with the mental workload and improving coordination. A front-facing screen shows a comforting digital face that communicates with victims through visual instructions, emotional support, and AED guidance. VITA employs bladeless rotors to operate safely near humans. Front and rear signal lights alert traffic, while a bottom-facing LED improves visibility at night. The drone operates for up to 60 minutes before returning to a docking station to recharge or replace its battery.
