The Ferdinandeum in Innsbruck presented a unique selection of 800 pieces of armour and weaponry from the Stone, Bronze and Iron Ages and from Roman times. The special exhibition explored the complex subject of weapon consecration and offered visitors an impressive “layer by layer” experience of the chronologically arranged sacrified weapons, as well as the rituals and religious forms of expression reflected in them. The spatial layout concept of the exhibition was inspired by the principle of geological layering.
