“Women Employed” was founded in 1973, and since then has been a leading advocate for women’s equal rights in the working place in Chicago. It not only supports women and aspiring female students but also targets lawmakers and reinforces change. The redesign of the organisation identity employs the bold colour pink to portray the female gender with pride and ensures the mark to be easily identified from public events and rallies. The trademark uses a geometric ascending form to indicate progression and the organisation’s historical sig-nificance. The combination of the initials “W” and “E” to “WE” refer to unity, and allude to the vision of a team with strong cohesion, the powerful bonds amongst the members of “Women Employed.”
