This work was developed for the FIFA World Cup 2010 to inform the fans about the individual players and teams during the event. Illustrations were designed for all the players and coaches of all teams, which had qualified for the world championship, and were complemented by background information to form a variety of materials. The large-sized banners provided fans with a quick overview: the teams, each consisting of 24 players plus coach, were represented by depicting their heads as comic-like icons and could thus quickly be identified simply by the colour of their skin alone. The individual sets for each team comprised a printed layout of the football field onto which fans were able to place the stickers of the heads of the eleven players, which were also included in the set, to mark their respective positions. Fans could thus get to know each team and its players in an engaging and interactive manner.
