Wu Xing Fortune Cake

With its pentagonal shape, this signal-red gift box combines typical Taiwanese design with traditional Chinese New Year customs. Each side features a detailed design representing the five elements and their associated animals: gold/chicken, wood/dog, water/pig, fire/goat and earth/cow. In addition, there are Chinese proverbs of good fortune to the inside of the fold-out compartments. The multifunctional box houses pineapple cake and can afterwards be used as a New Year’s decoration or as a bookmark.
