The packaging design for Xiao Mo Sesame Oil builds up a natural but strong emotional connection with consumers by reminding them of packaging designs from past times. The minimised bottle features a straightforward round shape, while the label looks like a newspaper from bygone days. It thus evokes childhood memories, for in the 1980s and 1990s in China, snacks and seasoning used to be wrapped in old newspaper. The layout of the bottle label is inspired by old street shop signs, with the Chinese characters of the brand name reading from top to bottom.
